THERE will be plenty of family fun tomorrow (Saturday) when Northfield Carnival takes place in the town.
The event runs from 11.30pm to 4pm at Victoria Common, behind Northfield Shopping Centre, with the official opening at midday and a variety of live acts after that as part of a four-hour show compered by the Moonlighting Roadshow.
The Northfield Caledonia and Pipe Band will take to the arena at 12.10pm, followed by the Elite Academy of Dance and Gymnastics at 12.25pm.
The star attraction – Jumpin Jez Avery’s Stunt Show – will perform at 1pm and Skins and Feet – limbo and African drumming – will take place at 1.35pm.
There will be Caribbean music in abundance at 1.50pm when the Mighty Jamma takes to the stage with his steel pans and that will be followed by Irish dance at 2.20pm.
The Celtic feel will continue with a second appearance from The Northfield Caledonia and Pipe Band at 2.20pm and Skins and Feet – limbo and African drumming will return at 3.05pm.
Jumpin Jez Avery will be back with his stunt show at 3.25pm and the Funky Feet Academy of Dance which wowed the crowds last year will bring down the curtain on the carnival at 4pm.
As well as the live entertainment, there will also be a host of other activities, including charity stalls, children’s rides, inflatables, free circus skills workshops, zorbs, go-karts, craft activities, balloon modelling, magic and more.
